So many small businesses want to acquire new leads through their website but aren’t clear on the benefits to blogging, and if its really worth their time and effort to do it.  This post seeks to provide clarity for those small businesses who might still be on the fence.

Whats the first step to getting more leads through your doors?

In order to acquire leads we must first get visitors to your website.  After the hard part is over, now our mindset shifts to keeping them there (your website). This is most important task we want to accomplish with any website.

If people are on your website that means you’re communicating with them.  That means your business is growing and you’re generating new leads.  Our mindset with blogging is to extend as much value as humanly possible to all our (potential) customers–your website visitors.

After people are on our website and we’ve extended value to them, our responsibility shifts to making sure they stick around for a while.

Websites like Facebook do everything they can to tweak their formulas to make sure you’re constantly seeing viral content that keeps you on their website longer.  Why do they do this? Because the more value you receive from Facebook leads to spending more time on the website.  Essentially, you want to do the same thing with your company’s website.  Extend more value so you keep them on your site longer and eventually it will turn into a sale or conversion.  Facebook acquires this when you purchase advertising or click on an advertisement.  The methods we use are more white-hat, but you understand the comparison.

Your website works the same way for your business.

Think of it this way.  The more you’re interacting with your customers through your website the more value you’re sending them.  What happens as a result of sending an abundance of value to someone?
